The Cherry Barn

The Cherry Barn is a restored 17th-century oak-framed barn on a 400-acre working family farm at Peasmarsh, just outside Rye in the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It is a dry hire venue, so couples bring their own caterers, drinks, furniture and music, and choose from a list of preferred suppliers.

Hire covers 48 hours of exclusive use and just one wedding a weekend. Couples can marry in the barn, under the oak-framed gazebo or in the meadow, and the Norman church of St Peter and St Paul in Peasmarsh is a short stroll away. There is no corkage on drinks for the reception or wedding breakfast, a dance floor beside the bar, a commercial kitchen and a White Room for getting ready.

The venue is run by Mel and Steve. Steve took over the family farm in 2010, and Mel, who manages The Cherry Barn, comes from a background in marketing, sales and events. On-site accommodation includes a holiday cottage and an open-plan apartment, and glamping is allowed.
