A wedding stylist builds the overall aesthetic of your wedding — palette, materials, decor, the couple's styling — so everything reads as one picture. Stylists in the UK work with florists, lighting designers and venues to bring the vision to life. Review portfolios and ask for a proposal for your style.
The fee depends on scope: concept and moodboard only, or full design with supervision of the setup on the wedding day. Materials and the vendors who execute are added on top of the fee. Ask for the fee and the execution budget to be broken out separately.
The planner organises and coordinates — agreements, timeline, vendors — while the stylist owns the picture: palette, decor, the staging of the space. At smaller weddings one person often covers both. If aesthetics is what you care about most, the stylist is the targeted choice.
After the venue and before the decor vendors — ideally 6 to 12 months before the wedding — so the concept guides the flowers, lighting and the rest of your choices instead of trying to tie them together afterwards. Sought-after stylists book their good dates early.
