Funk City Band

Funk City Band is a live wedding and party band based in Corsham, Wiltshire. It plays pop, pop-rock, indie, funk and Motown, with sing-along anthems and floor-fillers, and builds each set around the crowd in front of it. The band says it has played over 600 weddings since 2004.

Couples can choose a duo, a 3-piece, a 4-piece or a 7-piece line-up with horns, and there is also an acoustic roaming band. Every booking includes learning your first dance, a bespoke playlist, two hours of live music and a free playlist DJ service between sets. The band supplies its own PA and stage lighting, or hires in more for larger rooms.

Funk City was founded by Craig Mitchell and Simon Baum, with Craig on lead vocals and guitar. Around ten full-time musicians work with the band, so a rehearsed stand-in is available if someone falls ill. It plays across Bath, Bristol, Somerset, Gloucestershire and Wiltshire, and travels anywhere in the UK.
