DJ Mitch Matthews

Mitch Matthews has been DJing for over 30 years, starting in a student nightclub in Nottingham at 21, and has played more than 2,000 events. Weddings have been part of that for over a decade, alongside private parties, big birthdays and after-show parties, and his website describes wedding DJing in Brighton, London and further afield.

He works closely with each couple to plan the whole evening party, rather than adding a few favourite tracks to a standard playlist. That means finding out why you love certain songs, building a bespoke setlist around them (with guest requests if you want them), and suggesting ways to avoid common mistakes, such as putting the first dance straight after the wedding breakfast.

Mitch only DJs at about 50 events a year, and most bookings come by recommendation. He has played at weddings in East Sussex and elsewhere in Sussex, and has also set up a silent disco for a couple whose venue had to turn the speakers off at 11pm. Emailing him to check your date is free.
