The Pretty Cake Company

The Pretty Cake Company makes bespoke wedding cakes from a home-based studio in Minster Lovell, near Witney in West Oxfordshire. Samantha Tempest started it in 2008 as a general celebration cake business, and it has become a wedding cake specialist with over 20 years of experience in cake design.

The cakes are iced, semi naked or buttercream, often finished with sugar flowers, and there are dessert table treats to go with them. Every cake is baked fresh to order, with four layers of sponge and three of filling. Samantha takes on only two weddings a week, and couples visit the studio for a consultation and a tasting of five flavours between November and March.

She delivers and sets up the cake at the venue, and works with florists on fresh flowers for the cake. She covers Oxfordshire, Gloucestershire and the Cotswolds, and lists Caswell House, Blenheim Palace, Lapstone Barn, Kirtlington Park and Minster Mill among the venues she has worked with.
